My Kid’s Club

Following the destruction of its original facility during Hurricane Matthew in 2016, My Kid’s Club (MKC) was relocated to a temporary space on a local elementary school campus. As the only dedicated youth center in Johnston County, MKC currently serves over 200 students through its daily afterschool programs.

My Kid’s Club engaged Integrated Design to be their partner in designing the new facility.  The Club asked for large multi-purpose spaces filled with light and an industrial aesthetic.  As design progressed during the Covid pandemic and the following months, the most significant challenge was the construction market with significant increases in the cost and availability of materials.

The new 5,000-square-foot facility is thoughtfully designed to expand program capacity, enhance access to youth services across the county, and function as a centralized hub for club operations. In addition to supporting in-person activities, the building will enable virtual learning and extend satellite programming to additional community locations.
