J. Thomas Yount, AIA

Principal

Tom founded Integrated Design in 1999 and has worked in the architectural field for more than 35 years. Regionally known for his work in laboratory- and technology-related projects, he draws from his experience working with retail, office, distribution, industrial, and sports facility clients. Tom has served as a member of several code and regulatory advisory committees for the City of Raleigh and the North Carolina Department of Insurance as well as civic and private organizations. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in building codes, programming, and master planning to our projects.

Michael D. Sutton, AIA

Principal

With more than 20 years of experience at Integrated Design, Michael has worn several hats throughout the firm’s history, including project manager, designer, and principal. Extensively experienced in the education, athletics, science, and government industries, Michael has been involved in most of Integrated Design’s university and collegiate projects.

David B. Kirk, AIA

Principal

David is a Principal at Integrated Design. He has been here since its inception in 1999 and has been working in architectural design since 1996. He has designed and managed a diverse range of projects with a focus on laboratory, office, and retail clients from programming to construction completion. In addition, David has spearheaded numerous master planning efforts in Research Triangle Park. An award-winning designer, David has received such honors as being the 2009 Sir Walter Raleigh winner, a 2010 Triangle Business Journal Best Build Out, and a Kamphoefner Honorary Fellow.

Juliette G. Dolle, AIA

Principal

With more than 22 years of experience managing a multitude of project types, Juliette is both a Principal and a Project Architect at Integrated Design. She enjoys many aspects of the field of architecture but finds the development of client relationships and the mentoring of future generations of architects and designers to be among her favorites. Her previous professional roles have included Director of Design for a multi-state non-profit builder, Director of Design for an affordable housing design studio, and Project Architect for multifamily residential and mixed-use developments. She served for two years as Chair of the AIA’s Women in Architecture committee and four years as Membership Chair and Board Member for TCREW (Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women), where she continues to be an active member.

Ryan C. Lockett, AIA

Principal

Ryan is a principal and director of design at Integrated Design. With over 20 years of experience with the firm, Ryan has designed and managed a diverse range of projects with a focus on religious, multifamily, and institutional clients. In addition, Ryan has extensive experience in long-range master planning exercises on many of these projects.

Hannah Atkinson, AIA

Project Architect

With 12 years of experience in project management and over nine years of experience in architecture, Hannah brings an organized and analytical approach to each project. She has a great depth of experience in an array of projects from fit-ups to ground-up buildings and in all phases of design from concept through construction administration. She loves interior design and has never gotten over the magic of seeing a building materialize from drawings on paper to a real-life space for human beings. She currently serves as Past President of her local American Institute of Architects (AIA) chapter, where she strives to teach and mentor the next generation of architects and designers. She also enjoys being a guest critic for student projects at the Interior Architecture department at UNC Greensboro.

Samuel Burner, AIA

Project Architect

Sam’s project experience runs across a range of project types but focuses primarily on science and technology (S&T) related projects. He particularly enjoys the technical rigor of this project type and the opportunities for creative problem-solving. Sam considers designing spaces that are conducive to groundbreaking research and discovery to be incredibly rewarding.

Anna Hendrick, AIA

Project Architect

During her time at Integrated Design, Anna has assisted and led throughout each phase of multiple project types. Pulling from her experience in archaeological fieldwork, Anna has developed a process that is centered on the attentive documentation of existing conditions and the analysis of how existing and new come together to provide successful and usable spaces. She particularly enjoys working on projects that provide flexible and multi-use spaces, ensuring the voices and needs of all users are captured and provided for.

Christopher Bartlett

Laboratory Planner

Christopher has more than 25 years of experience in planning and programming research laboratories, pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, GMP warehouses, commercial real estate tenant laboratories, research greenhouses, industrial manufacturing applications, and biocontainment laboratories. He is highly skilled in BIM and creates custom databases and special programs to assist with lab equipment planning, field documentation, and engineering calculations. With a diverse background in mechanical engineering, and plumbing, Christopher ensures that engineers are all on the same page in each project he’s involved with.

Kate Boland, NCIDQ

Director of Interiors

Kate brings more than 22 years of project experience in public, community, educational, preservation, and sustainable design to the table. She has extensive experience with a variety of project types, ranging from commercial fit-ups, laboratories, and healthcare facilities to world-renowned music venues. Kate’s passion for environmental sustainability, along with a background in science, has come full circle with her love for designing laboratory facilities. She is a motivated designer with strong organizational and prioritization abilities, and she cultivates client and vendor relationships from project inception through project completion.

Anya Aikman, AIA

Project Architect

Before joining the team at Integrated Design, Anya had built her architectural career over the previous eight years to gain an array of experience, including interior commercial fit-ups, retail, and multi-family. She is now excited to turn her focus to the science and technology industries. Anya pays great attention to detail and enjoys the process of transforming a concept into a technical set of drawings to bring the concept to life.

Julia Hess, AIA

Project Architect

Julia has three years of experience in modern architectural design and is passionate about architecture that integrates into its context yet has an element of surprise. She brings a creative and inventive spirit to our team and sees each project as an opportunity to learn. In 2022, she was awarded the Emerging Professional Award for her contributions and achievements early in her design career. Currently, she serves as the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Director for her local American Institute of Architects (AIA) chapter and has founded an initiative to unite and empower women in the architecture, design, engineering, and construction industries.

Caitlyn (O’Malley) Wilson, AIA

Project Architect

Caitlyn’s experience over the past seven years has encompassed a variety of project types from interior commercial fit-ups to urban master planning and high-end residential. She is passionate about architecture that gives back to its community and blends well with the larger local context while still maintaining its own identity. Caitlyn enjoys work that challenges her and teaches her new things about architecture and the world.

Kristen Warring, AIA

Project Architect

During more than five years in the industry, Kristen has worked to develop an exceptional portfolio of science and technology-oriented projects. She fosters a collaborative and creative environment on all projects and enjoys the diverse range of problem-solving skills required while designing for the science and tech sector. She especially loves using her visual rendering skills to bring a project to life for her clients. Her background as an art major plays an important role in the way she approaches design. She believes all buildings and spaces have the potential to be both functional and design-driven.

Elinor Angel

Project Architect

Elinor has 15 years of experience across a variety of projects, including government, healthcare, educational, office, and laboratory facilities, many with a focus on sustainability. She enjoys working as part of a team, problem-solving, and getting into the details of a project to bring it to fruition.

Joshua Lepisto

Project Designer

Josh is an important part of Integrated Design’s production group. He has worked on numerous interior alterations for a range of clients, including retail, restaurant, office, and laboratory projects.

Emmy Wood

Project Designer

Emmy worked with architectural design firms in North Carolina and in Colorado before joining Integrated Design, and she has worked on a variety of project types ranging from high-end residential to commercial interiors. She is instrumental in helping develop firm production standards as well as streamlining BIM processes.
